3 more days...

...til i return to tv. Time Warner shows up saturday to hook me up with some bad ass HD cable service. Combined with my super cool double recliner leather sofa, I may never leave my apartment again. ever. I will have cable in time for the season premiere of the OC on November 2nd! wooohoo! Life after Marissa is the storyline for season 4, and it'll be totally fascinating I'm sure.

Life without regular tv (aside from what I've been catching on the DVR that still resides at my old home) has been strangely refreshing, but I gotta tell you, I am SO looking forward to having it back in my life, as it will be bigger and better. And there will be FOOTBALL! Good times.

pathetic, i know

Okay, so I have deserted both tv and this blog. You don't know how much it pains me to not have been in possession of television for the past two weeks since I have moved into my new place. But, I am finally getting my act together - I ordered a bitch ass tv that will be arriving this evening, and Time Warner is showing up next week to hook me up with some HD cable service. I CANNOT WAIT to watch football and my shows on my new HD flat screen. SWEET. So, now I will be not only a homeowner but the proud owner of a super sweet 40" LCD HDTV. Life is good. I totally PROMISE that my blog will be back to its regularly scheduled programming once I've got things set up which should be by next weekend. Then I can watch and write about my shows again. And football! In HD! Woohoo!

and done.

My tv watching habits have died a slow terrible death in the past week or two due to the Big Move. That's right kids, I've officially occupied my new place of residence and have been completely absorbed in doing "homeowner" stuff. And so I'm at least two weeks behind on tv with no end in site. Well, okay I take that back. I'd like to think that eventually I'll get settled in and then once the bad ass tv I am buying shows up, tv will be back in full swing! Until then... Penn State this weekend! Cafe on Friday! Tailgating on Saturday! Michigan-PSU Saturday nite! Ohhhh, it's going to be a bad ass weekend. Just like the tv I don't have yet. bad ass.

melting pot

Okay, so much for Racist Survivor. I'm still terribly behind in my tv, but managed to sneak in a few shows last night anyway while continuing my packing chores: season premiere of Desperate Housewives, Dancing with the Stars (okay fine, I only actually watched the last five minutes of the elimination episode to see who got booted), Laguna Beach and Racist Survivor. I have lots to say about all three, but since I am somewhat limited in my time here with lots going on at work, I will confine my comments to the last one, because I just want to express my EXTREME disappointment that Racist Survivor is racist no more! They went ahead and mixed up all the tribes to make two big tribes of all different ethnicities, so now it's not NEARLY as ignorant as it was in the first couple of episodes! How disappointing. All the hype about Racist Survivor for nothing. Nothing! Now it's just Survivor: Cook Islands, and that's just not nearly as fun. hmph.

i have nothing.

Well, I have nothing tv-related, that is. What I do have is a condo and a mortgage! Yay! I am officially a homeowner, but in the process, have fallen days and days and days behind in tv because I've been busy doing condo-related stuff. So I have absolutely nothing to report in the tv arena, and probably won't for a bit while I try to get my act together with my new home. Will try to play a little tv catch up soon, but between the condo stuff and my niece's birthday, and then the playoffs starting next week, and then moving in to the condo over my birthday weekend, it's just not looking very promising...

phil does it again

Twelve teams on a race around the world for $1 million! Another season of Amazing Race is upon us. Season 10! And I have been swamped trying to get my sh*t together for my soon-to-be new home and barely have had a moment to even stop to go to the bathroom, but alas, a girl needs a break every now and then and so a week after the fact, I opted to slack off for an hour and watch the premiere of season ten.

Twleve teams starting out in Seattle, WA and are dumped off in these little sea planes that look like they'd probably give me some serious motion sickness if I ever had to ride in one. Let's meet the teams...

Peter & Sarah - Triathaletes, and Sarah has an artifical leg. I swear I'm not one to discriminate based on disabilities, but given the physical nature of this race, I'm just skeptical.
Team Muslims - Umm, yeah I know it's ignorant to call them that, but thats what they ARE and to be honest, I have no idea what their names are.
Rob & Kimberly - This isthe team that will be screaming at and fighting with each other the entire race. Reminiscent of Jon & Victoria if anyone remembers them from an earlier season.
Dustin & Kandice - Miss New York and Miss California. Blondies with big boobs.
Davd & Mary - Team Kentucky. Every stereotype you can think of applies here.
Erwin & Godwin - Asian brothers who get in trouble for having water guns in the airport. Haha! No seriously, did they think they were going to get away with that?
Duke & Lauren - Father and his lesbian daughter from Rhode Island. Not as exciting as it sounds.
Vipul & Arti - The Indian couple that make some bad bad navigation decisions that end up biting them in the ass.
Kellie & Jamie - Cheerleaders with very limited personality.
Tyler & James - Cute models that happen to be recovering druggies. Nice recovery, boys.
Lynn & Karlyn - Single moms from Alabama that complain a LOT.
Tom & Terry - Boyfriends from NYC that I am rooting for because my sister knows Terry from work.

And just like that, the teams are off to China! And the first roadblock involves eating fish eyes, which just grosses the hell out of me and makes me mad that this show is perpetuating the stereotype that Chinese people eat some nasty stuff. And holy crap a team gets eliminated before the race even really gets started! Phil pulls a fast one on us and eliminates a team even though it's not a pit stop! I guess it doesn't matter that I never got to learn the Muslims' names... As for the ACTUAL pit stop, Tyler & James win $20K for finishing first and the Indian couple finishes last and goes bye-bye. Wow, two teams out in the first episode, and arguably the two most ethnically diverse teams compared to past seasons at that. Whew, that was exhausting.

AL East Champs '06!

Congratulations to the NY Yankees for surviving another season and making it into the postseason again! One step closer to Subway Series II...

Anywhos, the Yanks clinched last night and they are off tonight so I'm catching up on tv. I'm already quickly getting bored with this season's Dancing With the Stars but following along nonetheless just because it is remarkably entertaining to watch the people I actually know. Specifically Joey Lawrence and Mario Lopez. So funny! But you know me and my sports loyalties, I'm totally rooting for Emmitt Smith. This week we said bye-bye to Miss USA. Next to crash and burn: Jerry Springer.

This week's Laguna Beach: A Jason cameo! And mentions of Lauren when things were still good between the two of them, haha! I am still waiting for Cameron to cut it off with Jessica... I'm so over her. DAMN YOU Cameron for picking Jessica over Tessa! Oh, and: Kyndra + Tyler = YUCK.

Yeah, just went through my DVR list to see what else I had on tap to be watched and... yikes, i am REALLY behind on my tv!

don't mess with my chickens

I finally watched the much anticipated premiere of Survivor: Cook Islands, more commonly known as Racist Survivor. And it turned out to be just so ridiculous you had to laugh and be entertained. The Asian team turns out to be not as spastic as you expect them to be, with the exception of the hippie Vietnamese guy named Cao Boi, pronounced "Cowboy" and that is how I'll be referring to him from here on out. He's really out of control with the asian jokes and it was just outrageously funny when he left the welt on the korean guy's face in his attempt to cure a headache. Hands down the best part of this first episode is the chicken debacle. There's the fight over the chickens and then "Roller Girl" lets the chickens get away. I almost DIED laughing when she lifted the crate and the chickens got loose and ran away with the quickness. Haha!

The African-American Tribe is the first to go down aand lazy man goes home. Good job kids.

white house black market

There was an abundance of sports to be watched this weekend, between college football saturday (yay for Penn State!), a HUGE win for the Giants over the Eagles on Sunday, and two straight days of Red Sox-Yankees doubleheaders on top of all that. Whew! Still one last game of baseball left to be played, but while I'm waiting for that, thought I'd catch up on some tv, so I watched last week's Project Runway. Angela and Vincent are back! Good grief, we were ALL so glad to get rid of the them, how ridiculous is it that they got LUCKY and won a challenge each earlier on that they didn't necessarily deserve, and for that they get to come back and compete again? Ugh. BUT, because there is a fashion God, they're gone again as quickly as they came back! And it's a lovely challenge because it features ONLY black and white colors and Michael makes an awesome dress (again) and Laura finally wins one! And bye bye we have to say to Kayne who has provided endless entertainment to us. And so we have the Final Four: Michael, Uli, Laura and Jeffrey. Next Stop: Olympus Fashion Week!

Regarding Laguna Beach: That Cameron sure does get around! Could Jessica be ANY MORE annoying? I like Tessa and Cameron together way better!
